Configuring your network for Electronic Box
Services.

1) Click
the Start button on your Windows XP Desktop located at the bottom on your left.

2) Right
Click with your mouse on the Network Connections Icon

3) Once the
Network Connections page open, locate the network device that will be used to
communicate with the modem.
Tips: If you are connecting using a network Cable (RJ-45), locate your Local Area Connection icon and proceed with step 3.4. If you are using a wireless adapter like in this example, locate your wireless network connection icon and proceed with step 3.1. Your computer may have problems detecting your network device(s). Please reffer to your computer manufacturer or system supplier for assistance. If you can’t find any network physical device in your system, contact your local hardware supplier or Electronic Box Inc. to purchase a network device such as a wireless network card or a LAN card.
3.1) Right
click on the device and select View Available Wireless Networks.

3.2) Choose
Wireless network ‘speedtouchCC5CD2’ Unsecured wireless Network and click on the
connect button. If you are already connected, proceed with step 3.3. If your
computer can’t connect with the device, verify that your wireless adapter is
working properly.

3.3) Once
your computer is connected, you should see something like this below

3.4) Select
your network adapter that is attached to the modem (select wireless network
connection if you already pass through step 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3). Right click on
the icon and select properties.

3.5) Locate
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click on it once and click on the Properties
button.

3.6) Select
‘Use the following IP address’ and enter the information below:
Ip address:
192.168.1.60
Subnet
mask: 255.255.255.0
Default
Gateway: 192.168.1.254
Select ‘Use
the following DNS server addresses’
Preferred
DNS server: 69.28.239.8
Alternate
DNS server: 69.28.239.9
Click on OK

4.0) Open
Internet Explorer or your preferred browser. Type the following URL in the
Address Bar: http://192.168.1.254
If you are
prompt for a login and a password enter the following information:
Login:
Administrator
Password:
(leave this field empty)
Click on Ok
You are now
inside the modem interface.
4.1) Right
click on the Speedtouch tab on the left menu and choose ‘Set Up’ on the bottom
of the page.

4.2) Follow the steps in the Easy Setup wizard.

4.2.1)
Choose Bridge service if you wish to connect using the Windows XP client (this
option is not explained in this tutorial). Select Routed PPP and slick next.

4.2.2) From
the drop down box, select VPI/VCI of 0.35 instead of the default 8.35. Leaving
the VPI/VCI at 8.35 is incompatible with Electronic Box internet services.
Finally, select connection Type PPP Over Ethernet (PPPoE) and click next.

4.2.3)
Enter the ADSL User Name and Password that was provided by your sales rep
during activation. If you don’t know theses informations, contact Electronic
Box immediately. Click Next once your finished with this section.

4.2.4)
Enter a special password to prevent unwanted access to the SpeedTouch
management interface. We recommand keeping the password that your sales rep
provided during activation. Becarefull when choosing a custom password. If you
loose the password, nobody can retrace it.

4.2.5) The
wizard is now ready to update the changes in the modem. Revise the settings to
ensure you entered correctly all the informations before clicking the start
button. Once you are ready, click the start button. Wait for the unit to update
the changes.

4.2.6)
Congratulations you are now connected on the Internet. If your connection is
not working, click on the Broadband connection tab and select ‘Internet
Services’. Verify the last error messages. If you recently contacted Electronic
Box to activate your account, you may see an error message telling ‘Authentication
failed’. Please allow 24 hours for processing your activation. If you still
have this error message after 24 hours, contact Electronic Box or verify that
you correctly entered the value in the wizard. If you have a subnet, continue
with step 5.0.
5.0) Your
modem is equipt with routing functions allowing subnet routing. Follow theses
steps to configure your subnet on your modem.
5.1) Click
on the Home Network Tab and select ‘Interfaces’. Click on the LocalNetwork link
from the center of the page.

5.2) Once
you clicked on the LocalNetwork link, you will be transfered to this page. From
here, you can configure your modem to listen on your new subnet. Click on the
configure link at the top right corner of the page.

5.3) Enter
the first ip address of your subnet available for routing. For example, if your
subnet is 64.235.209.232/29, your first available ip addresss would be
64.235.209.233. Enter the subnet mask provided during activation in the second
field. Click the add button.
Note: The
ip address entered recently will be your new default gateway for your computer
network devices attached to the modem unit.

5.4) Click
the Start button in Windows Xp, and select Run. Enter the following command:

Click Ok.

5.4.1)
Connect to your modem using this command: telnet 192.168.1.254 and press enter.

5.4.2)
Enter the login and password you choosed before in the Wizard. The default
login is Administrator and the default password field is empty.
Note: We
asked to change your password to be the same as the one provided during
activation with your sales rep. Reffer to step 4.2.4

5.4.3) Once
you are granted in the CLI interface, enter the following command to disable
the Nat engine. If you don’t, your modem will continue to translate all your
request originating from your local ip with the PPPoE ip address.
nat
ifconfig
Press enter
You will
now be prompt to enter the interface name. Enter the following informations.
intf=
Internet
Press enter
Translation
= Disabled
Press enter

5.4.4) Exit
the CLI by typing the exit command.

5.5)
Congratulation, you are now connected to the internet using your new subnet.
Don’t forget to change your tcp/ip settings in windows XP before browsing.

To
configure your SpeedPhone VoIP service, reffer to section 6.0
6.0) This
section will explain how to configure your SpeedPhone VoIP service on your
ST780(WL). If you are using an ST516(i), please contact Electronic Box.
6.1) Click
on the Toolbox tab and select Telephony.

6.2)
Click
on the configure link on your right at top of the page. Check the Enable
Telephony box and click apply.
6.2.1) Clik the Add button and enter the
informations provided by Electronic Box.

6.2.2)
Enter the SIP Uniform Resource Identifier and all the informations that was
provided during activation with your sales rep. Select if you wish to apply
this configuration for the port 1, port 2 or both on your modem. Click the
apply button.

6.3)
Click
on the Expert configure link on your right at the top of the page. Enter the
registrar IP and all the informations provided during activation with your
sales rep. If you don’t know theses informations, contact Electronic Box
immediately. Click the apply button once done.

6.4) Click
on the details link on your right at the top of the page to view if you are
registered on the SIP network. If you are connected, you will see a Gree check
mark. If not, a red X will be displayed.
Note: If you recently contacted Electronic Box to activate your account, you may see the red X displayed. Please allow 24 hours for processing your activation. If you still the red X after 24 hours, contact Electronic Box or verify that you correctly entered the value.
6.5)
Congratulations, you are now connected to the Digital SpeedPhone Electronic Box
Network. Start enjoying low rates long distance calls on your multi-features
phone service.
